So much good stuff this week. Lots to share... I was so excited to come across this interview with author and fellow introvert Susan Cain. Which led me to her TED talk. Which led me to ordering her book, Quiet. As an introvert, I feel like I have been trying my whole life to fight against my nature, but Susan's work is a good reminder that the world needs introverts too. If you're an introvert or love an introvert, the TED talk is a great place to start. Loved this article in the New York … [Read more...] about what kaly found v.7

Blockbuster is closing all if its stores and my first reaction was "They still have stores?" And frankly I was more interested in the Twitter IPO and the CEO of lululemon sticking his foot in his mouth (pending my future ambassadorship and all). Then I read this article about video stores, and it brought me right back to Turtles in the Killearn Shopping Center. It's weird to realize that there are parts of my childhood that my kids will never know a thing about. RIP Blockbuster. If you lived … [Read more...] about what kaly found v.6

I'm afraid my brain is feeling a little like jelly today. This post is competing with Halloween, birthdays, house guests, insomnia and now this bee flying around the bench I'm sitting on. Let's just say I have a few things going on. If you missed my advice for new parents, don't forget to check it out. For some reason I can't understand (because my brain is feeling like jelly today), the email for the post didn't go out. But you can link to it here. This week I've been thinking about the … [Read more...] about what kaly found v.5

This week I'm sharing a couple of my favorite things... So, How Was Your Day? This is my favorite web site right now. I'm a sucker for the-day-in-the-life set up, and I love reading about interesting people doing interesting things. After reading Max Wastler's profile, I found myself in line at the store holding a bottle of Basil & Hayden's. But that's another story. If you're inspired by the breadth of options life has to offer from where you live to what you eat to how you make a … [Read more...] about what kaly found v.4

This week is for the ladies. My first two finds come via Upworthy. If you don't know this site, their tag line is "Things that matter" and if you subscribe, they will send you three videos a day of cool stuff. I just subscribed this week and so far, I'm totally loving it. This first video really got under my skin in the best way. If you have a daughter, it's a must watch. It's a beautifully written and performed piece about women and self-worth and how it cycles from generation to … [Read more...] about what kaly found v.3

What caught my eye this week? Good graphics, comfort zones, fresh pizza and free shiny stuff. 9 out of 10 Americans Are Completely Wrong About This Mind Blowing Fact - I learned about this short informational video over on Seth Godin's blog. If you're not familiar with Seth, he's a marketing guru. And sure, this video is a teensy bit political, but our government is shut down after all so it's kind of on my mind. And as Seth points out, even if you don't agree with the sentiments, you have to … [Read more...] about what kaly found v.2
introducing: what kaly found
I remember the first time that I tried to surf the internet. I was in a computer lab at Mount Holyoke College in the basement of the foreign language building. I'm not sure why I was down there because it was my first year (at an all women's college you don't use the term freshman year) and I dropped Spanish after the first class. But there I was in the basement of the foreign language building even though I wasn't taking a foreign language, and I decided to check out the world wide web. The … [Read more...] about introducing: what kaly found

UPDATE: If you're a reading this on your phone, you're probably wondering what the heck I'm talking about. If you are on an iPad, if you turn it horizontally, you can see the side navigation. Sorry for the technical glitches, still working on my mobile responsiveness! You can also subscribe to receive an email when I post something new here.
