Looking back at my recent posts, even I'm starting to get sick of my own “insights”. I’m a very reflective and insightful person, which is a nice way of saying that I am in my head and have way too much time on my hands. I am also a really good connector – I can take disparate things and bring them together into a narrative. This is a strength I have, but I certainly don’t want to overdo it. So to be clear, I am not living each day perfectly in sync with the universe, whipping up recipes … [Read more...] about the blah’s

three things from the mat
This week I'm back with an attempt at the three things series. I was a little thrown by my Philly trip but now ready to get back to our regular scheduled programming. I mentioned that May was going to be a quiet month for me. I’ve been using this downtime to be still (I have not taken on any major projects requiring lists!), and so I’ve been increasing the frequency and intensity of my yoga practice. I’ve practiced yoga on and off for the last 13 years in all kinds of studios – at my gym, the … [Read more...] about three things from the mat
are we having fun yet?
I just had a long weekend. And I had a lot of fun. Let me back up. In January I was taking a class, and I was given the assignment to go out and do something fun. Sounds simple right? The best homework assignment ever. It was an online class, so as I was sitting at my computer getting this assignment, I was ready to work. I know how to work. I know how to focus and prioritize and plow through. And I know how to relax. I know how to take care of myself and give myself room to … [Read more...] about are we having fun yet?
my favorite corners
Not much time for writing today. I am handing over the kids to my parents and headed down to Philadelphia to spend a few days with my hubby. So instead of words I'm busting out the pictures - here are some little corners of my house that I love and will miss dearly. Hope you are having a good week and have some excellent Mother's Day plans. XOXOX - K … [Read more...] about my favorite corners
before it was home
I'm going to miss my house. We moved into our house in August of 2004 - a crazy time for real estate. Prices were still going up and everyone wanted to buy. The couple that sold us this house seriously banked on it, and I always picture them sitting on a beach somewhere toasting frozen drinks and cackling with their success. In reality, I think they moved to Somerville. It was one of the first houses that we looked at, and it wasn't necessarily love at first sight. It was only after we … [Read more...] about before it was home
three things that will make you love gp
It’s hard for me to understand why people hate Gwyneth Paltrow so much. I mean they really hate her. She was voted most hated celebrity (over Chris Brown I might add) in a recent Star Magazine poll. More hated than someone who hits women? That’s a lot of ill will. And a large statement about the readers of Star Magazine. But I stand by GP. I regularly read her web site. I own both her cookbooks. The first one I picked up at Goodwill for $1.00, but I do own it. I think she is a smart … [Read more...] about three things that will make you love gp
come what may
One of the reasons that I wanted to move immediately is because I’m not very patient. And I’m not very good at being idle. I like to have a project. Something with lists where I can methodically check off the things that I accomplish. Preferably something that requires a color-coded spreadsheet. March was a blur of getting the house ready to go on the market. April was all about finding a new place to live and negotiating the sale of our house (just signed P&S on Saturday!). June will … [Read more...] about come what may
three things
Every morning this week, I’ve woken up before my alarm in a panic because it’s so freakin bright outside. But I’m not oversleeping. It just that spring is here with its longer days, crisp mornings and breezy afternoons. Here are three things that are putting a little spring in my step this week. 1. Keds are back. With no socks and bright white laces, I’m feeling like I’m back in 6th grade. I picked up my grey knock-off’s at Target and am finding that they’re the perfect transition shoe … [Read more...] about three things
