Announcing Let’s Get Real: Six Lessons in Designing a Connected Life
Recently as I've been out in the world talking about moving and relocation and getting the word out about my book Good Move, it occurred to me that yes, people and families move all of the time. There isn't anything inherently remarkable about that. It's an unpleasant hoop that we all jump through at some point or another because we all need a place to live. But when you strip away that top layer of inconvenience and massive to-do lists, what's left is a series of choices, decisions, and yes, … [Read more...] about Announcing Let’s Get Real: Six Lessons in Designing a Connected Life
Where to Find Me: Reset & The 90s
I've spent most of the past two weeks traveling. First on spring break and then to a family wedding. I've really enjoyed my adventures, but my travels haven't left me much time for writing. Now I'm feeling rusty and struggling to get back into the swing of things. I've decided to take my own advice and press the reset button (see Mamalode post below). I'm taking some time to reevaluate, rethink, and plot my next steps. In the meantime, here are two guest posts that I hope you'll … [Read more...] about Where to Find Me: Reset & The 90s

#GoodMove
I've been feeling the need for a little more fun and creativity in my day-to-day. I used to spend a lot of time making cards, little books, drawing and painting, but my art supplies have been collecting a fair amount of dust since I've been focused on writing. I miss that creative spark. But I needed something that was easy. That I could add to my days without pressure or guilt. Because not all good things have to be complicated and hard work. Sometimes easy is just what the doctor … [Read more...] about #GoodMove
holiday favorites part 2
This past weekend we decorated gingerbread houses which is one of our family's favorite holiday traditions. We also piled on the couch and watched Christmas Vacation one of our favorite holiday movies. And then we started a new tradition. We took the boys out shopping. I decided that we spend way too much time asking them what they want and what's on their list and not close to enough time asking them about what they want to give. We provided them with a modest budget to buy gifts for each … [Read more...] about holiday favorites part 2
