things that no one ever says to me

rocks

Things that no one ever says to me:

You’re so tan! Did you just get back from the beach?

Don’t worry about the bathroom, I’d love to clean it.

You look so well rested.

Can I not play on the iPad?

I have so many clean clothes, I don’t know what to wear.

I already cleared my dishes.

I know exactly where my shoes are.

But we already have so many pictures of you.

Can we just sit around and read today?

You don’t look old enough to have two boys that age.

What are people not saying to you these days?

I’m on vacation this week. But the blog will go on!

Hope you are enjoying these last days of summer.

authenticity, family life, just plain funny

Too funny! My favorite is, “you look so well rested.”

Could it be because my family is still asleep and I’ve been awake since 7 am sitting at the computer?

    Is your vacay Tally?

I’m not sure any amount of sleep will ever make up for the deficit you rack up as a parent. We were in Tally and did not move from my parents pool. It was great.

The irony is that once the kids are gone, you’re older and your body won’t let you sleep longer! Eyes fly open at daybreak. Life isn’t fair!

I know that’s true but I don’t necessarily want to hear it!
