Sometimes in the morning, if there are a few extra minutes before we leave for the bus stop, I’ll hop on Facebook and scroll through my feed. This morning, I decided to play one last video from Hillary Clinton’s campaign. I’d seen the same video popping up over the last few days but hadn’t had a chance to watch. But about one minutes in, I turned it off. Otherwise, I would have been in tears as I sent my boys off to school for the day.
After waving to the bus, I climbed into my car, pulled out my phone, and watched the rest. The tears came. All the emotion and the stress from the past months finally breaking me open. I’ve read every article. I’ve watched every video clip. I’ve followed every move and every meme.
Because I want this so badly for her. For all of us. And, I simply don’t understand how half the country doesn’t see the same woman that I see – a woman so graceful, so brilliant, so hardworking, who cares deeply about every last person in this country. A woman we should be begging to be our president.
Today, I am beyond excited to cast my vote for Hillary Clinton. I have hope we will put a woman, and a mother, in the White House.
Whatever your choice is, please exercise your right to vote. It matters.
