Long Lost Interview: Good Move

Funny story: last year right after Good Move was released, I was interviewed for a podcast about how as a busy mom I manage the demands of modern family life.

I had a nice chat with Alexa from Lose the Cape, a blog and online community of mothers trying to debunk the myth of the super mom (something I can fully get behind) and share motherhood survival strategies (oh how I love a good strategy!).

We talked about…

  • Finding time to work as a busy mom
  • My time management tips
  • Discovering work that is true to you
  • Incorporating minimalism into family life
  • Why I decided to write a book about moving

And then I promptly forgot about it.

And apparently she did too. She recently found the file on her computer unmarked and unpublished. So it was with great surprise this week that my long lost interview was released on the Lose the Cape web site.

I remember thinking after I recorded this interview, “Wow, I’m pretty sure I sounded like a self-righteous know-it-all.” I think that’s the danger any time you take a position or a point of view on something as loaded on how to manage your family life. There are a million different ways to do it, none of them wrong or right, some just working for some families better than others.

But after listening to the interview again, I thought that I did a good job of sharing from an authentic place some of the things our family has learned on our journey about keeping life simple.

If you’re feeling like you could use a little more simplicity in your life, you might just find a couple of gems in here. It’s less than 30 minutes – enjoy!
