Today I accomplished a few things that I never dreamed possible:
1. It’s December 9th, and I am done with my Christmas shopping. I wanted to do things differently this year, because I’m usually running around at the last minute, waiting for things to go on sale, searching for the perfect idea, wrapping into the early hours of Christmas morning. Not this year. I’m trying an entirely different approach called, tis the season to enjoy the season not run around and buy things that we don’t need. The gifts have been ordered, the decorations are up and you can find me on the couch watching Christmas movies preferably with…
2. Street urchins. I have a new humor piece featured on In The Powder Room about my secret obsession with street urchins. Love them. Always have. Always will. If I could just get my kids to cooperate, maybe I could have a few street urchins of my very own.
3. It’s a good thing that I am done with Christmas preparations because I am sick as a dog and bunkering down with tea, sporting sweatpants and fingerless gloves (in the spirit of street urchins), and will be taking to the couch indefinitely. Who gets sick two weeks before Christmas? This girl.
I hope your holiday planning is going swimmingly. Remember, less is more. Except when it comes to tweed on small children.
I’ll be back Friday with the latest installment of #10yearsaparent. Until then, Consider yourself at home, consider yourself part of the family…

At this moment I am going away to do my breakfast, after having my breakfast coming again to read additional news.
