We’re headed toward the end of the year, so all the best of lists are staring to come out. My favorite lists are always the best books of the year because I read a ton and I like to give books as gifts too.  Here Slate brings you their picks for their Top 10 Most Crucial Books of the Year.

I also like checking out Warby Parker’s reading picks on their blog. My favorites are the Superlatives where they highlight passages from books high school style like Best Alliterative Accusation and their infographics that lead you to the book you should read based on your situation – Is your family dysfunctional?

If you’re looking for some new books to read with the kiddos, Huffington Post Parent came out with their Best Picture Books of the Year. I may or may not be including this because the author and illustrator of the #1 book is my neighbor and my kids play Pokemon with his kids.

And finally, this week Babble put out their Top 100 Bloggers of the year and I didn’t make the cut. It was totally a long shot, and I was sad for about a minute and a half. But this doesn’t mean you should bombard their site with comments like “Where’s Kaly Sullivan????” Let’s be happy for those that were picked. Slow clap.

Thanks for commenting on my nomination page and sharing on Facebook. This is really my first venture into self-promotion, and I was really surprised and humbled by how many of you chimed in. This year I’m planning on really upping my game when it comes to kissing Disney ass. That’s right Babble, this is not over.

Have a very real weekend.
