I hate bandwagons. But I’m jumping on to talk about being thankful.
This all started because of a second grade homework assignment. Well not, all started, I’m sure you know that it all started with the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. But anyway, there’s this homework assignment about being thankful, and my son writes –
I am thankful for my life.
And of course I’m beaming. Just over the moon, because he gets it. He gets what it is really all about. This big, beautiful life that is our greatest gift. I am mother of the year. I have instilled in him through my own practice of gratitude a soulful understanding of the universe and all of its gifts.
And then he adds –
Because without my life, I wouldn’t be writing this right now.
He went on to say he was thankful for civilization. Which of course provides him with the actual letters, paper, pencil, school building and education system allowing him to write this particular assignment.
Always the literal one, that son of mine.
So yes. We are thankful for our lives. And our many gifts (Including but not limited to our ability to over think everything).
And our many blessings.
Much love to you and your familiy this Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving! We have to talk about being thankful at dinner tomorrow afternoon and I am tempted to pull the “ME”!! I am thankful for ME. I don’t know how it will go over 😉
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving…I’m sure everyone there was incredibly grateful for you.
