Q: Why write Good Move?
If you hop on the internet looking for information about moving, you’ll find an abundance of hacks, check lists, and tips for decluttering and staging. It’s harder to find information on making the decision to move, what’s involved with the emotional transition for you and your kids, and how to run a household while tackling the biggest to-do list ever. When we decided to move to a new home, I needed information about what we were facing so we could make mindful, well-informed decisions. The last thing I needed was another check list. I created the book I wish I had when we were moving.
Q: Your biggest moving win?
We did a really great job of defining what was important to us when picking a new neighborhood and a new home. With that prioritized list, we found a community that was a right fit for us.
Q: Your biggest moving fail?
We did not do enough digging into our moving company and our move ended up costing us twice as much as we planned and a lot of mental anguish. If we had known what to look out for, we would have been able to prevent it.
