I’m afraid my brain is feeling a little like jelly today. This post is competing with Halloween, birthdays, house guests, insomnia and now this bee flying around the bench I’m sitting on. Let’s just say I have a few things going on.
If you missed my advice for new parents, don’t forget to check it out. For some reason I can’t understand (because my brain is feeling like jelly today), the email for the post didn’t go out. But you can link to it here.
This week I’ve been thinking about the whole fear/courage thing and thought I’d share what a few of my favorite people have to say on the subject.
“I can tell you that behind every great anything is a person who is scared.” Penelope Trunk
If you’re not reading Penelope Trunk, you should be. It’s one of the few site that I read every post from beginning to end. She has a very interesting perspective on career and life and this post about having guts is one of my favorites.
“Don’t pause.” Tara Street via Kathleen Shannon
I am totally crushing on everything about the sisters Kathleen Shannon and Tara Street and their business Braid Creative. I want to be their new bestie. I want them to help me with my creative business and we can have power lunches in locavore cafes and chat about vintage accessories and modern design and other stuff that cool kids talk about. I’ll probably just end up taking one of their e-courses and continue to cyber-stalk them, but anyway, I love them. And you should too. Kathleen takes on fear here and Tara here.
Go ahead. Check it out. What are you afraid of?
Have a very real weekend.
